| GLCC TAKES ONE OF THREE AT MARANATHA
The GLCC Mens Basketball team went 1-2 at the Regional Tip-off Tournament November 29-December 1 at Maranatha Baptist Bible College in Watertown, Wisconsin.
In Game 1, GLCC was beaten by Moody Bible Institute 87-44. Tyler Sherman led the Crusaders with nine points and five assists. Travis Ganong came off the bench with eight points, nine rebounds, and three blocks, with Carlos Araoz contributing five points and seven rebounds. GLCC shot 33% from the field but only 6.7% from behind the arc.
In Game 2 Great Lakes fell to the host Maranatha Crusaders 64-45. Tyler Sherman led the team with 18 points, two assists, and two blocks. Carlos Araoz, Boaz Chong, and Nick Smith had seven rebounds each to lead GLCC. Great Lakes was down by seven at halftime and were within eight points with eight minutes left but went 0-9 from behind the arc in the second half.
In the finale the Crusaders bet the Emmaus Bible College Eagles 69-55. Carlos Araoz led the way with 11 points and eight rebounds. Landen Koch came off the bench to score 11 points and grab seven boards. Travis Ganong, Tyler Sherman, and Kyle Gilmore scored nine points each, with Gilmore hitting three triples. Nick Smith contributed seven points, six rebounds, and three blocks.
GLCC (2-7) will travel to Springfield, IL on December 7-8 for the Robert Morris College Tournament in which they will play Robert Morris-Chicago and Robert Morris-Springfield. the 2007 year will end with the first home game of the year on Wednesday, December 12, at 7:30 PM against East-West University at Holt Junior High. make plans to get there and support the team.
