1. Academic Scholarship
   Academic scholarships are awarded based on a student's ACT/SAT score and high school grade point average:

   The above dollar amounts are yearly scholarships, and can be renewed annually for a maximum of four years.




2. Other Scholarships
   Great Lakes Christain College also offers numerous other scholarships based on merit and financial need. These are listed in the College Catalog, and may be applied for by filling out the GLCC Scholarship Application.

State of Michigan Programs

1. Michigan Competitive Scholarship
   This scholarship is available to any student who is enrolled at least half-time and meets the Michigan residency requirement. Grants range from $100 to $2000 per year, based on financial need.


2. Michigan Tuition Grant
   The criteria and award range for this grant is the same as the above scholarship.
   
3. Promise Scholarship
   Residents of the State of Michigan qualify for this scholarship based on MEAP scores. This scholarship is $1000 per year for four years.

Federal Aid Programs

1. Pell Grant
   Any undergraduate degree student who does not already possess a bachelors degree may apply for a Pell Grant by submitting a FAFSA. These grants range from $400 to $4310 a year, based on financial need.



2. Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG)
   SEOG grants range from $100 to $4000, and are given on the basis of exceptional financial need.



3. Stafford Loan
   This is a federal low-interest loan available to students. A student may borrow, at 6.8% interest, up to $3500 the first year, $4500 the second, and $5500 thereafter.



4. PLUS/Stafford Loans
   Other loans are available for parents and independent students.

GLCC Costs

GLCC has always provided quality education at a reasonable cost. Among Christian colleges of comparable size, the cost of attendance at GLCC is lower than most. Below is a schedule of tuition and fees as of the Fall 2007 semester.

Applying for financial aid is relatively easy. Simply follow the checklist below, and call the Office of Admissions if you have questions.

How to Apply for Financial Aid

1. Apply for admission to GLCC
2. Complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). List Great Lakes Christian College as your college choice. Enter 002269 as the Title IV code number on question 86.
3. Send the FAFSA directly to the Federal Student Aid Program, and submit it as soon after January 1 as possible, preferably by March 1.
4. Complete the Scholarship Application from GLCC. This can be obtained by writing or calling the Office of Admissions. You must already be accepted and have submitted your commitment letter and $200.00 room deposit before you can apply for scholarships .
5. Send the completed Scholarship Application directly to the Office of Admissions.
6. Apply for any other grants, scholarships, or awards for which you may be eligible. Check community organizations, employers, unions, and banks for scholarship opportunities.
7. If your church will be helping with your college expenses, have the appropriate church official write a letter to the Office of Admissions at GLCC detailing their intent.
