Beyond the Classroom
Dr. Dan Cameron, Professor of Theology and Ministry, attended the Rochester College “Sermon Seminar” in May. He also taught a summer school class on Basic Apologetics and went on his church sponsored 3-day Men's Motorcycle trip to Northern Michigan in July.
Mark Christian (BRE 1987), Vice President of Academic Affairs, traveled with Christ in Youth to three summer conferences in Indiana and Tennessee as an Encounter Speaker and taught the “Next Level” class for high school seniors, graduated seniors, and adult sponsors on Paul’s Letter to the Ephesians. He also preached the main session message “Sin No Longer Has Power Over You” at two of the conferences. In September he led a session for the Central Michigan Christian Minister’s Meeting on “What I have learned about Communication in Ministry.”
Dr. Kendi Howells Douglas, Professor of Cross-Cultural Ministry, published four articles in The Lookout in May. She also led the GLCC high school summer camp, Misseo Dei, on a mission trip to inner city St. Louis, Missouri in June. She brought a camp team and was a speaker at Last Chance Camp at Pine Haven Christian Assembly in Park Rapids, Minnesota.
Dr. Alvin Kuest, Professor of Christian Education, is currently the interim preaching minister at Ballard Church of Christ in Sparta, Michigan.
Beth Nugent (Wetzel, BRE 1995) graduated with a Masters in Library and Information Science from Wayne State University in August. Beth is the Assistant Librarian at GLCC.
John Nugent (BRE 1995), Professor of Old Testament, attended the Rochester Sermon Seminar in May and Ekklesia Project Conference in July.
James Orme, Director of Library Services, attended the Association of Christian Librarians Conference in Marion, Indiana and the American Theological Library Association Conference in Chicago, Illinois in June.
