MeLCat (InterLibrary Loan)

MeLCat allows users to borrow books, CDs, and movies from over 400 participating Michigan Libraries at no charge. To search for an item not in our Library, go to the Library’s website, then select “MeLCat (Interlibrary Loan).” When you find an item you would like to borrow, click the “Get this for me!” link and follow the instructions. Items are delivered and returned at our Library and you will be notified of its arrival by an email to your GLCC email account. You can also login to your MyMeL account at the MeL site to see the status of your loans as well as to renew your Interlibrary Loan items.

Michigan State University Libraries

GLCC Students are able to checkout books from the MSU Libraries. To do so, visit the MSU Library and ask for a Community Card Application. You will need to prove you live in Michigan in order to obtain the card (e.g., drivers license). Once completed, you can check books for 14 days and audio/visual material for 7 days. For more information go to http://www.lib.msu.edu/about/policy-lendingall.jsp#community.

Online Research Resources (Databases)

The Library subscribes to over 40 online research databases to which you have free access while you are a student at GLCC. These databases may include full-text journal articles, materials from reference books, and full-text books. For a list of the online resources available through our Library go to the Library’s website, then select the “Research Resources” link. If you are off-campus, you can still access these resources by clicking on the off-campus link next to the database title on the list.
