Your career in nursing or the allied health professions begins at
Great Lakes Christian College.

This interdisciplinary program combines substantial training in psychology and science to provide students with the base knowledge they need to pursue person-centered care professions, particularly nursing, chaplaincy and a variety of allied health professions such as physical and occupational therapy, nutrition, kinesiology, dental hygiene, and radiology.  This degree does not provide credentials for such fields but meets most of the prerequisites needed to pursue the additional education and training that they require.

Either pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Compassionate Care or an Associate of Arts in General Education: Science Track.

  • The compassionate Care program offers a well-grounded education in the humanities, Bible, and Christian faith.  it enables a student to enter a nursing program to receive their Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Registered nursing degree when completed.
  • The Associate of Arts: Science Track will provide an education in the humanities, Bible, and Christian faith as well.  It enables a student to enter a Nursing program to receive their degree as a Registered Nurse upon completion.

After finishing the program at GLCC, students can choose any direction in the allied health professions.  Our degrees will make it possible for them to continue in their secondary degree track and achieve their allied health career goals.

Every potential nursing or allied health track has its own prerequisites, so we cannot guarantee a direct transfer with no prerequisites remaining, but NO school can offer that because every school has its own idiosyncrasies and even those change from year to year.  Our two tracks get you as far as meeting the most widely required prerequisites.  Students will be paired with an advisor who will be fluent in this program and will know the specifics of possible transfer schools.
