Students who do not meet GLCC’s general admissions requirements can apply under the Emerging Scholars Program. The program provides extra attention and support. Emerging Scholars have personal tutors and take classes that help them build a solid foundation for their future studies, all while earning college credits.

Requirements and conditions for the Emerging Scholars Program include:

  • Students must, in addition to general admissions procedures, meet with the Student Success Coordinator to explain why they have not met the criteria, how they will be successful in college and why they wish to pursue an education at Great Lakes Christian College.
  • Students may be asked to provide a sample of their writing skills to the Student Success Coordinator.
  • Students will be required to enroll in the Academic Success Class for each semester they are in the Program, and can take a maximum of 15.5 semester credits.
  • Students may be required to attend a two day seminar prior to Orientation Week, as well as participating in regular Orientation activities.
  • Students may be enrolled in the Program for up to one year.
